A SIX-WEEK BEGINNER WORKSHOP · 9 SEPTEMBER TO 14 OCTOBER

WOMEN N’ WEIGHTS

SAVE MY SPOT

Women only. Complete beginners welcome. Learn the resistance machines properly, with the gym closed to everyone else while you train.

NO EXPERIENCE,
NO PROBLEM

The Women N’ Weights workshop is designed for beginners looking to build strength, learn proper technique, and feel more confident in the gym. Join a welcoming space where you can lift, grow and challenge yourself at your own pace.

Throughout the six weeks we cover a wide variety of techniques and exercises, learning to lift weights correctly and understanding how to train effectively to suit your goals. Work to your own level using resistance machines and dumbbells.

SIX WEEKS

One coached session a week. A proper start and finish, not a rolling class.

WOMEN ONLY

The gym closes to everyone else during the session. That’s a big part of why it works.

MACHINES FIRST

Chest press, lat pulldown, leg extension. Learned properly. Dumbbells and core work round each session off.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

If any of these sound like you, you’ll fit right in.

01You’ve never used gym equipment and don’t know where to start

02You’re coming back to training after a long break

03The weights area has always felt intimidating, especially with men on the equipment

04You’re getting older and want to protect your bone density and strength

05The weight is coming off fast, and you want your strength to keep up

IF YOU’RE LOSING WEIGHT FAST

WHEN WEIGHT COMES OFF FAST, MUSCLE GOES WITH IT

When weight comes off very quickly, whatever the reason, muscle tends to go with it. Strength drops, and the body that remains is often weaker than it looks. Resistance training is how muscle is protected while the weight goes, and how it gets rebuilt afterwards. If you are losing weight quickly, this is the part that needs to catch up.

The same argument applies to bone. Bone density falls with age, especially through midlife, and loading the body against resistance is one of the best established ways to protect it. Strength matters for the ordinary business of life: lifting, carrying, getting up off the floor.

This is part of why Women N’ Weights exists. The gym closes, the group is women only, and everything is taught from zero. Anyone who feels unsure in a body that has changed quickly is closer to a complete beginner than they might think, and beginners are exactly who this workshop is for.

We are a gym, not a medical service. If you are losing weight under medical care, keep your GP in the loop and we’ll take care of the training.

HOW THE SIX WEEKS GO

You start on the resistance machines and stay with them until they feel like yours. Towards the end, dumbbells and core work join in.

By the last session you can walk into the gym and run a workout on your own. That’s the whole point.

“WE REMEMBER OUR FIRST TIME WALKING INTO A GYM.”

Everything after that door is easier: you’ll be met by name, shown where everything is, and paired with the group.

NO PRESSURE

No pressure to keep up. Every move can be adapted to the pace that is right for you.

NO JUDGEMENT

The gym is closed while you train. Space to learn without feeling watched.

JUST SPACE TO LEARN

A group of women starting out too, with time to ask questions and build confidence as you go.

The aim is simple. Help you feel comfortable training on your own.

HER STARTING POINT

“We did not change her. She did the work. We just gave her the right place to start.”

One member joined us nervous, not knowing how to use the equipment. She finished the six weeks, joined the gym, and now trains on her own three to four times a week.
